The Senior Legal Hotline has a pension counseling project that serves callers of all ages and income levels who live or have worked in California, Arizona, Nevada or Hawaii.
For Sacramento residents, we’re able to assist those 60 and over on almost any civil issue. Some areas we commonly advise clients on are estate planning, probate, grandparent rights, landlord/tenant disputes, locating pensions, and eligibility for public benefits.
If you live in a region outside of our service area, please click here for a list of legal aid programs in your county.
Eligible callers can reach us toll-free at (800) 222-1753 to get a free telephone consultation with an attorney, paralegal, or law intern. We recommend calling early in the morning as we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If we have appointments available, they will most likely be for later that day. However, priority goes to low-income clients and emergencies (usually housing or health care related).
Western States Pension Assistance Project – Our knowledgeable pension team can explain your pension plan and how related laws affect your retirement. They also assist with tracking down benefits from past employers, submitting claims on your behalf for denied benefits, correcting pension miscalculations and dealing with demands for overpayment. Our pension team serves Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada residents of any age.
